Police arrest Three boys for killing lady for money rituals

Three boys suspected to be ritualists have been apprehended in Oke Aregba area of Abeokuta for allegedly killing a  girlfriend of their friend for money rituals.

The suspects; Wariz Oladehinde, AbdulGafar Lukman, and Mustakeem Balogun were apprehended after policemen attached to Adatan Divisional Headquarters received a report from the head of the community security guard, that the suspects were seen burning something suspected to be human head in a local pot.

Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement in Abeokuta.

He noted that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Abiodun Salau, led detectives to the scene, where the suspects were arrested, while the fourth one who happened to be the boyfriend of the murdered girl escaped. 

He said the arrested suspects confessed that they were burning the head of the girlfriend of their escaped accomplice in the local pot. 

The Command’s Spokesman said the suspects claimed that the deceased simply identified as Rofiat was lured by her boyfriend identified as Soliu to where she was murdered by four of them, after which they cut off her head and packed the remains in a sack, dumping it in an old building. 

Mr Oyeyemi pointed out that the suspects led policemen to the building, where the dismembered body was recovered and deposited at the general hospital mortuary for autopsy. 

Meanwhile, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, who described the action of the suspects as a height of callousness, ordered a massive manhunt for the fleeing boyfriend of the victim, Soliu. 

Mr Bankole also ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation with the view to arraign them in court as soon as possible.
