Professor Yakubu said Optimal functionality of the device was acknowledged, while its introduction into the recent Governorship Election in Anambra and last Saturday’s FCT Area Council Election was equally adjudged by observers as credible.
According to him, the commission remains convinced that the deployment of the technology will ensure electoral credibility than the manual process.
He said in order to provide more eligible voters with an opportunity to register, the Commission was considering devolution of the ongoing Voter Registration exercise beyond states and local government offices, where the registration was currently taking place.
