Gunmen have abducted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward Chairman of Nagwamatse, Malam Ali Tudun Fulani and 3 other persons in Niger state.

The incident occurred when the armed men stormed Tudun Fulani, a suburb of Kontagora local government of Niger state and started shooting sporadically.

The gunmen thereafter took the Nagwamatse, PDP ward Chairman together with his elder brother, uncle and nephew to an unknown destination.

A resident of the area, Malam Haliru Bande told newsmen via telephone that the incident, which occurred around three o’clock on Monday morning, lasted for hours.

The PDP Zonal Chairman, Zone C, Alhaji Yahaya Ability called for prayers to overcome the current security challenges bedeviling parts of Niger state and Nigeria.

Alhaji Yahaya claimed that matters have come to a head because the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) can hardly contain the state of insecurity in parts of the nation.
