In this time of fuel scarcity, the federal fire service has urged people not to store Petrol in their houses.
Dr Karebo Samson, the Acting Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, said in a statement that if handled incorrectly, petrol can result in a major fire explosion.
PMS should not be kept in houses or other enclosed spaces by Nigerians owing to the present scarcity crisis, because doing so puts their lives and the lives of others at jeopardy.
He explained that invariably there was always a risk of a fire outbreak or an explosion if there is a source of ignition nearby such as a naked flame or an electrical spark.
More, he said, was needed, particularly in the dry seasons, to prevent fires from occurring.
