NSCDC parades 6 suspected criminals in Sokoto

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has paraded 6 persons for different criminal offences in Dange Shuni Local Government of Sokoto State.

Parading the suspects in the state capital, the state commandant of the NSCDC, Muhammad Dada said the arrests were made after gathering intelligence reports from the inhabitants of the area.

Mr Dada said one of the suspects, Siddi Kuruwa, had allegedly robbed and killed one Riskuwa Kalamu, believed to be a Fulani man.

He said the command also recovered 14 cows, 52 sheep and three Donkeys from 2 of the suspects while the other three were arrested for alleged sodomy and rape.

The commandant expressed concern over the challenges posed by the Yan Sakai, who are often accused of providing the criminals with information about their targets.

Mr Dada added that the government had proscribed Yan Sakai in the state because of their reputation for carrying out extra- judicial killings.

He appealed to members of the public to cooperate with security agencies for socio-security development in the state.
