President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over an ambush by bandits which resulted in the killing of some members of the vigilante in Sakaba/Wasagu Local Government of Kebbi State.
Describing the incident as an “unacceptable level of criminality”, President Buhari assured Nigerians that his administration would do everything in its power to decisively combat banditry across the country.
In a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the President said his greatest preoccupation was the threat to life posed by the “murderous gangs” and “remorseless outlaws”, who have no slightest regard for the sanctity of life.
The President sympathised with the families of the victims of the savage attacks.
He directed security forces to be more proactive and redouble their efforts towards frustrating the operational plans of terrorists before they even launch attacks.
