Residents of Gidan Gimba Community, in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, have benefited from projects of Rotary Club of Abuja Central Business District.
The project includes Hygiene and Sanitation, Skills Acquisition, Cash Donation, Clothing, food items and Startup kits for beneficiaries.
Receiving the items at his palace, the Village head, Mr Danjuma Audi expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club of Abuja CBD for its continued support for the community over the years.
Mr Audi who spoke through his Son, Mr Haggai Bawa said the gesture would reduce poverty among the Residents of the Community.
“We appreciate them, the Rotary has done a lot of things for us including Borehole, pray God Almighty will bless them more”. Mr Audi prayed.
President of the Rotary club, Ann Obi Gidan Gimba Community said the move to empower residents of Gidan Gimba Community was to commemorate Sanitation week in the Rotary calendar and to improve the healthy living of the people, especially at the grassroots.
“We intend to put a smile on the indigent who don’t have anybody to call upon. Rotary Club of Abuja CBD also intends to teach them the importance of hygiene to fight cholera and other water-borne diseases. She explained.
Rotarian Obi advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the gestures for them to overcome poverty and hunger.
Rotary Club of Abuja CBD had provided the Community with Borehole, Health Center and proposed to build additional classrooms to the existing ones in Gidan Gimba Community.
