Minister of Power, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu has assured that the nationwide power outage will be resolved soon.

He told State House correspondents in Abuja on Monday, following a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, that the problem was caused by vandalism, insufficient gas supply, and poor maintenance of some electrical apparatus.

Additionally, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State urged for a swift inquiry into perpetrators of violence in his state following his meeting with the president.

The Governor, lamenting the inability of a chaotic situation to produce development, urged the aggrieved to lay down their arms and participate in a state government-initiated dialogue.

He stated that President Buhari granted his request for more security officers to quell the unrest and maintain peace.

President Buhari summoned Governor Uzodinma, the Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu, and the Chief Economic Adviser, Professor Doyin Salami, to a meeting at the Presidential Villa on Monday afternoon to brief him on developments in their respective jurisdictions and to seek solutions.
