FG to spend ₦14bn on N-Power

The federal government has approved ₦14 billion to train 50,000 N-Power beneficiaries in different skills.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouk noted that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) gave the approval which will facilitate the training of non-graduates in different skills.

Hajiya Sadiya said the beneficiaries would be trained by 4 federal government establishments in a 6-month training and a 3-month apprenticeship after which, they would be given certificates.

Meanwhile, the FEC also approved the construction of a 2nd runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport costing over ₦92 billion.

The Minister of Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika told newsmen that the contract had been segmented into procurement and installation of air-fill lighting, navigational and communication aids, as well as meteorological equipment.

Alhaji Hadi Sirika explained that the contract would be completed within 12 months.
