The Nigeria Copyright Commission has arrested 4 suspects for violation of the copyright and intellectual property act.
Director-General, Nigeria Copyright Commission Dr John Asein said the sting operation was carried out to raid copyright violators and piracy within the federal capital territory to make rightful owners of intellectual property get rewards for their works.
Dr Asein also observed that the consequences of piracy on education in the society of not checked will be dire, he called for more collaboration with the media in sensitising the public on the ills of copyright violation
He maintained that the commission would prioritise enforcement activities and the sensitisation of book vendors and printers on the ills of piracy, he further said that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
