IPCR advocates synergy among emergency responders

The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has recommended capacity development and conflict sensitivity in emergency response.

This is one of the recommendations at the presentation of a research report on conflict sensitivity of government emergency response (sub national case study) conducted by the institute.

The Director-General of the IPCR, Dr Bakut Bakut said in conflict emergencies, rules of engagements were usually suspended to ensure safety and security of all.

Dr Bakut said the research focused on Benue state as a result of the infamer’s farmers-herders clashes experienced in the state.

The Executive Director Women in Strategic Enterprise Initiatives, Makurdi, Benue State, Magdalene Igbazua, who presented research findings, called for regular conflict analysis in Benue.
