The Police in Benue State have gunned down four suspected armed robbers who have been terrorising residents and motorists in Zaki Biam, Ukum Local Government.
Governor Samuel Ortom, who was at the scene where the bodies were displayed, urged the Police Command to intensify their onslaught against armed robbers and kidnappers so as to rid the state of the criminals.
Governor Ortom expressed delight at the gallantry of the police which led to the killing of the armed robbers who he said had been making it difficult for people to sleep with their eyes closed.
He promised to continue supporting the police to do more.
Benue State Police Commissioner, Wale Abbas thanked the Inspector General of Police and Governor Ortom for giving him the necessary support and assured the pair that the police would keep on fighting to rid the state of crime.
