President Buhari inaugurates 12-storey Bank of Industry Building

President Muhammadu Buhari says the Bank of Industry has created over nine million jobs since his administration began in 2015.

President Buhari made this know during the inauguration of the BOI tower 2 in Abuja.

At the inauguration, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed satisfaction with the progress so far made by the bank.

He commended the management for their ability to successfully repay the 750million dollar syndicated loan borrowed some years ago.

Earlier, the Managing Director of the bank Olukayode Pitan said the bank has supported over four million micro, small and medium Enterprises with various loans.

Mr. Pitan thanked President Buhari for making the BOI major lead in most of its social intervention programmes.

These include the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP), N-Power, MSME Survival Fund, AfDB Special Agro Procession Zones (SAPZs) initiative, and the AfDB Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprise (i-DICE) programme amongst others. We thank you Sir.

The Chairman board of the bank Alhaji Abdulrahaman Dikko said the new building would open frontiers for the nation.

He said the Bank’s success has also attracted the admiration of a number of DFI’s in Africa.

According to him Some have visited the Bank to understudy the business operating model.

Minister of industry, trade and investment Adebayo Adeniyi expressed satisfaction that proceeds from the bank had helped it meet with its projects, stressing that the institution had added significant value to the Federal Government’s Industrialisation agenda over the past 62 years.

The governor of the central bank of Nigeria Mr. Godwin Emefiele said Nigeria has the potential to both its economy and that of some other African countries.

Construction for The twelve storey BOI tower 2 began in 2012.
