Nigerian Army explore ways to tackle security threats

The Nigerian Army says it is developing the capacity of officers and men for enhanced operations and improved security of the nation.

General Officer Commanding One Division, Major General Kabir Mukhtar stated this while declaring open, a workshop on operations planning cadre for personnel within the ranks of colonel and below in Kaduna.

Represented by Brigadier General Adeleke Ayannuga, the GOC explained that the training was meant to refresh personnel on various aspects of operations planning process to enhance their skills.

Major General Kabir Mukhtar noted that warfare is becoming increasingly complex due to changes in the nature of threats and advancements in technology, stressing that the Army world over continually engages in capacity building to enable them to surmount emerging security challenges.

The GOC pointed out that the division’s experience in Birnin Gwari, falgore, and Kagara forests as well as other areas of operations had helped draw useful lessons, thereby identifying gaps in the conduct of its operations.

Major General Mukhtar added that the operations planning cadre for the year is expected to explore ways of building on existing efforts to meet the division’s operational needs for various levels of warfare, and military decision making amongst others.
