Rainstorm destroys 80 buildings in Kwara community 

Some of the properties affected by rainstorm at Igbaja town in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state

Rainstorm has affected over 80 public and private properties in Igbaja town in the Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state.

Radio Nigeria reports that the rainstorm occurred during the night, leaving residents rattled.

Some of the places affected included ECWA Demonstration Primary School; ECWA Theological Seminary; Divisional Police Headquarters Igbaja and Mosunka-ire area where a number of houses were also affected.

One of the victims, Mr. Johnson Folaranmi, expressed sadness over the incident and sought the support of governments and well-meaning individuals to cushion the effects.

Meanwhile, a high-powered delegation of the Kwara state government has visited Igbaja in Ifelodun local government area to sympathise with victims of the recent rainstorm.

The leader of the delegation and Secretary to the State Government, Professor Mamman Saba -Jubril,
assured the victims that the state government will offer assistance to help residents with the adverse effects of the rainstorm.

The Elese of Igbaja, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo III, commended the state governor for sympathising with the town as well as his readiness to assist the victims of rainstorm.
