Many people are believed to have been killed in a spate of deadly attacks that has continued to afflict Imo state.
At the time of this report, 5 traditional rulers had been killed after being kidnapped from their palaces, while others had been released.
One of the monarchs is the father of Eze Madumere, a former deputy governor of Imo State.
Police in the state reported on April 1 that they repelled an attack on Mbieri Police Division, allegedly orchestrated by the now proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), 2 days after the group was said to have also laid siege to Otoko Divisional Police Headquarters on March 28.
Governor Hope Uzodinma said the killings were politically motivated and were not carried out by IPOB.
On Sunday, gunmen attacked a community in Orlu LGA before being confronted by security personnel.
Orlu is the second-largest city in the State and has a long history.
During the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War, it served as the headquarters for the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and humanitarian aid groups.
According to TheCable, several people were reportedly wounded in the attack, and several buildings were also destroyed.
This comes only days after an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) worker was killed in the Ihitte Uboma LGA.
There has been no official statement issued as of yet.
