Preparations are in the advanced stage to introduce a park-and-pay regime for motorists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The airport manager, Kabir Mohammed told aviation correspondents in Abuja that the move was aimed at bringing sanity to the airport.
Mr Mohammed said the introduction of the park-and-pay system at the airport would address the problem of touts, who extort drivers that drop off passengers at the airport.
He said with time, the unsavoury activities of taxi drivers and illegal business operators around the airport premises would be addressed.
According to him, a special task force has already been commissioned to check traffic congestion at the toll gates which hitherto had been a burden to airport users.
