Yari offers medical outreach to 1,000 patients

About 1,000 patients have benefited from a free Medical outreach programme in Zamfara state, which was initiated by a former Governor of the state, Alhaji  Abdul’aziz Yari.

The Programme’s Implementation team leader, Dr Yemi Eseyim, briefed newsmen in Talatan Mafara local government area of the state.

Dr. Eseyim said from the inception of the programme, which entails a mobile clinic, more than 600 patients were captured and treated, given that the mobile clinic provides medical support to patients suffering from Malaria, cataracts, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Fractures and Paediatrics problems, among others.

He said cases beyond the scope of the clinic were referred to appropriate hospitals for better management.

In his remark, the supervisor of the programme,  Alhaji Sama’ila Pawa, said the aim of the programme was to provide good healthcare services to less privileged people so as to enable them carry out their daily activities effectively.

Some of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Isiyaku Mafara and Malama Binta Yar Mai Nono, commended the former governor for supporting them with medical assistance to better their lives.

The medical outreach team is expected to run the exercise in the state for a week.
