180 Associations present cheque of N50m to Zulum

Fifty million naira cheque presented to Governor Babagana Zulum for purchase of the purchase of form by 180 Associations in Maiduguri.

About one hundred and eighty clubs, associations, and professional bodies have presented a cheque of fifty million naira to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum to purchase his expression of interest and nomination form under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Presenting the cheque of fifty million naira to the Governor at Government House Maiduguri, the spokesperson of the coalition, Alhaji Awaji Bukar, said their members donated as low as one thousand naira to actualize the re-election bid of Governor Zulum.

Alhaji Bukar explained that the donations came from many registered members of 180 clubs, associations, and professional bodies across the state.

According to him, the Zulum administration has in three years recorded more than six hundred capital projects and initiated far-reaching policies and programmes including resettlement and reconstruction of more than ten thousand housing units.

In response, Governor Babagana Zulum expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the groups, noting that he was particularly impressed with those who gave out one thousand naira from their meagre resources.

The Governor assured the groups that his administration if elected for the second term, would construct more infrastructures and invest far more in commerce, vocational education, job, wealth, and creation.

Prof Zulum also noted that with the increased stability across the state, the enormous amount spent on providing livelihood to the vulnerable would be channeled to the provision of developmental projects.

State Chairman of APC, Ali Dalori commended the groups for their sacrifices and for identifying with the APC in Borno State.
