Victims support fund donates food items to 3,000 households

The Victim Support Fund Covid-19 Task Force has donated food items and personal protective equipment to 3,000 thousand households in Imo State.

At the ceremony in Owerri, the Chairman of the Fund General Theophilus Danjuma said the intervention was part of efforts to mitigate the effects of covid-19 on vulnerable groups in the society, by providing food, portable water, hygiene and health care equipment to rural communities in the country.

He explained that the intervention would be rounded off in the remaining six states and urged the Imo state government to ensure that the items got to the people they were meant for.

The Imo state Governor Chief Hope Uzodimma represented by the Deputy Governor Professor Placid Njoku commended the donors noting that covid-19 had devastating effects on the economy and lives of the people.

Items donated to households in Imo state are rice, beans, garri, vegetable oil, hand sanitizers, face masks and rain boots.
