Mark ‘D’ Ball: Delta Force win in round of 16

Abuja-based franchise, Mo’ Heat out-dunked Delta Force of Asaba 102-73 to end their campaign in the 2022 Mark D Ball Men’s Basketball Championship, unbeaten, in the Round of 16.

Last night’s victory meant Mo’ Heat which also won all of its matches in the first phase of the competition, kept a perfect 100% win record, in seven matches played in both phases.

Chief Executive of the Club, Mohammed Shehu, told Radio Nigeria Sports that good preparation, team work and discipline were key in the club’s imperious form.

Shehu said ahead of the championship, the management of the club did their ground work by ensuring that the right persons were contracted as Coaches; and the crew invested a lot in the selection players.

Mo’ Heat thus sailed easily to the ‘Elite-8’ along with Delta Force of Asaba.

Gombe Bulls defeated Kano Pillars 67-58 in one of the matches played last night, but both Arewa rivals are safely through to the Elite-8.

Similarly, Nigeria Customs advanced after defeating 69-57 to HotCoal Ballers of Abuja; and they were joined by Kwara Falcons of Ilorin and FCT Hardrockers, the Falcons for Ilorin qualified after a thrilling 69-67 victory over Suleija BullDogs, while the youngsters of FCT Hardrockers needed a near flawless fourth quarter to upset the NSCDC Defenders, in a very trilling and closely fought Abuja-derby.
