Federal Government has been advised to create a more enabling environment for Non- Governmental Organizations to contribute their quotas in eradicating poverty among women and youth in the country.
The Finance Coordinator, Action Aid Nigeria, Mrs Eghosa Gbadegesin gave the Advice in Ilorin during A 3 Day Training on Finance and Grant Management for Community based Organizations in Kwara State.
Mrs Gbadegesin said creating a more enabling environment for NGOs by Government at all levels would assist in ameliorating various challenges facing the people of the country.
She noted the organisation is currently training twelve community-based organisations and 3 women’s rights associations across Twelve local Government areas of the state on financial management.
The Chief Executive officer of Global Hope For Women and Children, GLOHWOC Mrs Chirst Abayomi said the NGO’s work was to ensure that the vulnerable population especially women and children are allowed to attain their ultimate potential.
She noted that the NGO is supported by Action Aids Nigeria and Global Affairs Canada to implement the women’s voice and leadership project in Kwara State.
Mrs Abayomi added that GLOHWOC had partner various stakeholders to Stern the spite of Gender Violence in the community across the sister local Government areas of Kwara State.
