Niger Gov establishes new Ministry of Internal Security

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has reshuffled his cabinet and redeployed three commissioners to other ministries. 

The governor’s action came barely 24 hours after he swore in seven new Commissioners as members of the state executive council.

In a statement issued to Newsmen in Minna by Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, 

Governor Bello assigned portfolios to the seven newly inaugurated commissioners.

Those involved are Al Zakari Abubakar, who moved from Ministry of Finance to that of Planning commission; Hajiya Ramatu Yaradua, from Ministry of Transport to Investment Commerce, and Industry, and Barrister Tanko Zakari, moved from the Ministry of Environment to the Ministry of Transport.

Nine commissioners retained their portfolios while the Governor approved the creation of new ministry of Internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, to be headed by Emmanuel Umar.

The cabinet reshuffle is with immediate effect.
