2022 Prudent energy handball league commences

Defending champions, Kano Pillars and FRSC Safety Babes will today begin their titles defence in the first of 2 phases of the 2022 men’s and women’s Prudent Energy Nigeria Premier Handball League, at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Day 1 fixtures will see Benue Buffaloes take on Lagos Seasiders, while Police Machine battle title holders, Kano Pillars in the second match, before Confluence Stars take to the court to try their strength against Tojemarine in the men’s category.

In the other fixtures, former champions, Niger United will meet Kada Stars of Kaduna, NSCDC Defenders will clash with Rima Strikers, while FRSC Safety Shooters slug it out with Owena Kings of Ondo in the last game.

In the Women’s category, Kada Queens of Kaduna will face Defender Babes in the opening fixture, Rima Queens of Sokoto are up against Bendel Dynamos, while Seasider Babes will take on defending champions, FRSC Safety Babes.

Former African Champions, Imo Grasshoppers will begin the competition against promoted Benue Queens, before Adorable Angels of Kwara test their might against Plateau Peacocks in the last fixture in the women’s category.

Monday’s matches will begin by 7.00 am, with some matches to be played at the Velodrome located in Package A of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.Yesterday, teams’ officials, coaches, referees converged on the stadium to attend seminars, technical meetings and other matters relating to the championship.
