The Anambra State Police Command has vowed to work with other security agencies to ensure that the masterminds of the beheading of a serving lawmaker in the state House of Assembly are brought to justice.
The State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng made the undertaking while briefing journalists at the command headquarters, Amawbia.
Mr Echeng described the incident as a heinous crime against the society.
According to him, the command appreciates the support of the state house of Assembly and the state government on improving security and enhancing safety of the public as no stone will be left unturned until perpetrators of violence are totally eradicated.
The goal, he said, was to make the state safe for growth and development.
He said the Nigerian Police Force had already extended their commiseration with Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the entire people of Anambra State at their moment of grief.
Mr Echeng confirmed that the headless bodies of the house of Assembly member , Omechukwu Okoye, and his aid, Cyril Chiegboka, have been recovered, and promised that all leads gathered so far were being explored.
