FG donates 500 beds, other items to healthcare centres in Kwara

The Federal government, through the office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has distributed about 500 hospital beds and other medical items to 158 primary healthcare centres in Kwara state to promote quality healthcare services delivery.

Speaking with journalists during the distribution of the items in Ilorin, the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Hajiya Nusirat Elelu, thanked the federal government for the intervention.

Hajiya Elelu said the intervention was meant to support the commitment of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in the state’s health care sector.

She said the state now had at least one functional health facility in 158 wards out of the 193 wards in the state.

The outstanding 37 wards would be accredited to benefit from the state basic health care provision fund within the next quarter, Hajiya Elelu told the reporters.

She also expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for finding Kwara state worthy of the number of items presented.
