The Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen has urged delegates at the various political platforms determining the future candidates of the forthcoming general election in the country to be firm, focused and resolute in all their choices.
Dame Tallen in a statement charged the delegates to ensure they vote according to their conscience so as to bring in credible and gender-friendly candidates for the future of humanity, women and girls in the country.
The minister urged them to be fair and promote justice and fair-play in the Nigerian polity by backing “the right candidates.
“Your choices will right our expectations and stabilise Nigeria’s political economy,” she advised the delegates.
She cited examples of countries where, based on decisions of delegates, the vulnerable populations are able to live comfortably due to able & credible representation by their elected officials.
Dame Tallen admonished the delegates to learn from such progressive climes.
She “Nigeria remains our only home to nurture. Hence, violence must be avoided, no matter the situation,” she asserted.
