The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Samuel Uche, has been kidnapped along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia state.
He was kidnapped alongside Right Reverend Dennis Mark, the Methodist Bishop of Owerri and the Prelate’s Chaplain and two persons, by yet to be identified gunmen.
The Prelate was kidnapped at about 2pm on his way from a church activities in Okigwe to Isuochi in Umu Nneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
When contacted on telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer Abia, state command SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the incident saying that efforts are on to rescue the Prelate and other priests with him.
