Confluence Stars of Lokoja recorded the biggest win on Day 8 of Phase 1 of the 2022 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League at the Indoor Sports Hall of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja

The Kogi State-owned team defeated Seasider Boys of Lagos 44-32, in a resounding victory that also neutralize the youngsters from Lagos in the early part of the game.

In other matches decided in the men’s league, FRSC Safety Shooters of Abuja literarily put Rima Strikers of Sokoto to sword with a dominant 35-20 trouncing, while white Police Machine surprisingly defeated Benue Buffaloes of Makudi 17-16.

Elsewhere, De Defenders of the Civil Defence crushed harpless Owens Kings of Ondo 35-27, while Niger United of Minna kept up their chase of the top two, with a 29-23 victory over Tojemarine of Lagos.

Despite not playing on Monday, reigning Champions, Kano Pillars still sits at the summit of the men’s table, after they walked over Kada Stars of Kaduna, to gain 3 points and plus 10 goals.

In the women category, Benue Queens defeated 2018 Champions Plateau Peacocks 23-21, while the youngsters of Rima Strikers of Sokoto edged Adorable Angels of Ilorin 24-23, in a very tight contest.

Meanwhile, the NSCDC Defender Babes of Abuja who have grappled for consistency at this tournament, made mincemeat of Seasider Babes of Lagos, who were beaten 36-27; while defending champions, FRSC Safety Babes of Abuja needed an extra gear to beat former African Champions, Imo Grasshoppers 27-2.

Bendel Dynamos walked over Kada Queens of Kaduna to earn the statutory 3 points and +10 goals.

Action in the league continues on Tuesday at both the Indoor Sports Hall in Package B, and the Velodrome, located in Package A of the stadium.
