Niger United of Minna leapfrogged Safety Shooters of Abuja, and are now 2nd by virtue of Superior goals, though they are on 28 points, the same as the FRSC team.
Rima Strikers of Sokoto were also on the winning train after overcoming Confluence Stars of Lokoja 33-29; De Defenders of the NSCDC gained 3 points and 10 goals after walked over Kada Stars of Kaduna.
Meanwhile, the losing spree by Owena Kings of Ondo State continued as they were narrowly beaten 29-27 by Benue Buffalos; while the Lagos derby between Seasiders and TojeMarine ended in a thrilling 29-29 draw.
In the Women’s league, the NSCDC Defender Babes drubbed Bendel Dynamos 36-23; Seasider Babes of Lagos edged promoted Benue Queens of Makurdi 26-23; while 2018 winners, Plateau Peacocks of Jos walked over Kada Queens, of Kaduna.
Elsewhere, Rima Queens of Sokoto lost the battle between youth and experience when going down gallantly, 30-33 to defending champions, FRSC Safety Babes of Abuja, who are sure to end the competition as leaders, ahead of Phase 2 in Lagos.
