Gov Wike appoints 3 new commissioners

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has sworn in three new Commissioners, two weeks after dissolving the State Executive Council.

They are Professor Zaccheaus Adangor as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Isaac Kamalu, Commissioner for Finance and Budget and Commissioner for Works and Special Project, Mr Dakorinama George-Kelly.

Governor Wike said the three new commissioners were dedicated and committed to duty while serving in the previous cabinet.

Meanwhile, Governor Nyesom Wike has directed the newly sworn in Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Zaccheaus Adangor to pursue criminal charges filed at the State High Court against the Former Governor of Rivers State, Mr Chibuike Ameachi and the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Tony Cole over the sale of state assets.

Governor Wike also directed the Attorney General to write a strong protest letter to the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission for violating court orders by attempting to arrest the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Siminalayi Fubara.

Governor Wike asked the anti-graft agency to vacate the perpetual injunction barring the EFCC from investigating financial transactions of the Rivers State Government.  

The Governor added that the move by the EFCC was an infringement of the fundamental rights, Mr. Fubara, who is the Former Accountant General of the State.
