NAPTIP rescues 10 victims of human trafficking

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) northwest zonal command in Kano, says it has rescued ten victims of human trafficking on their way to Niger Republic for labour exploitation.

NAPTIP Northwest Zonal Coordinator, Abdullahi Babale stated this to newsmen in Kano.

According to him, the victims were recruited from Kogi, Delta, Kwara, Oyo, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun and Osun states.

He explained that the victims were between the ages of 9 and 28 years while two of them were male and eight female.

He said that they were currently undergoing counselling, while efforts were being made to reunite them with their families.

Radio Nigeria reports that, in March this year, NAPTIP Northwest zonal command rescued 35 victims of human trafficking on their way to Europe through Mai Adua, Katsina state.
