Nigerians tasked on revenue generation

Nigerians have been urged to consolidate efforts in generating more revenue to enhance the social-economic development of the country.

A tax public analyst From the office of the special adviser to the president on public affairs, Idris Ejima Aruwa made the call on Radio Nigeria’s good governance and public accountability programme “have your say”

Mr Aruwa reiterated president Muhammadu’s administration’s commitment to Effective taxation describing tax payments as essential to promote infrastructural development and sustainable growth of the country.

Mr Aruwa who highlighted some of the achievements of the present administration in the area of the infrastructural sector stressed the need for the citizenry to work together to assist the government in achieving sustained national development and shaping the Nigerian Tax System for increased revenue yield.

Contributing to the programme Nasiru Hussain from Zamfara state and Mr Jude Ugbaja from Imo state urged the government as a matter of urgency needs to declare a state of emergency on the nation’s economy and avoid double taxation to restore public confidence in ease of doing business in the country.
