Kwara commits N150m to water projects

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says his administration has committed N150m to the construction of 48 modern motorized boreholes and their accessories in Moro and Asa local government areas of the state.

A statement by the state Commissioner for Finance, Florence Oyeyemi in Ilorin says the investment complements the ongoing efforts of the administration to make potable water available to residents of the state.

According to her the gesture of the state government has led to the Federal Government offering to construct 20 solar boreholes in Edu and Offa local government areas of the state.

Oyeyemi explained that each of the local governments is expected to get 10 solar boreholes to deepen public access to water.

She noted that the state government is committed to steadily meeting the water needs of residents in phases as resources permit.
