Nigerians are eager to be a part of the electoral process and this can be seen in the large turnout of persons at the Old Parade ground, FCT sport complex. As early as 9am, the crowd is massive and at their various points ready to get the Permanent voters card.
The process has been divided into sections to avoid stampede: tickets are issued a day before, then with the ticket, you join the next queue to get into the ground proper in other to get your card. So far, it has been a calm atmosphere as several security agents- the Police, the Army, NEMA are on ground to ensure there is no chaos.
As with every process, some complains can be heard from the crowd like lack of enough hands to make the process less stressful, suggestions of dividing the PVC centers to closest units to avoid this much crowd, no shades and the booklets being exhausted.
There have also been suggestions to extend the date of final registration as there are still so much unregistered people.
