UNIJOS gets first female Registrar

The 14th Governing Council of the University of Jos has approved the appointment of Dr Rejoice James Songden as Registrar of the University.

A statement by the Deputy Registrar of Information and Communication of the Institution Mr Abdullahi Abdullahi said the appointment takes effect from 24th June 2022 for a period of 5 Years.

It said the newly appointed Registrar, who is the first female to occupy the position, was a Deputy Registrar in the Senior Staff established of the University before she took a leave of absence to serve as Registrar of Karl Kumm University Vom, Plataeau State.

Dr Songden has a first Degree, Masters and a PhD in English from the University of Jos and has held many responsibilities, carried out many ad-hoc assignments, and is a member of several Professional bodies and Associations.
