Wives of the governors with one of the patient
As part of efforts to support cancer patients in the country, wives of governors under the auspices of the First ladies against Cancer initiative donated N100,000 each to over ten cancer patients at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada.
Speaking with journalists after the cash donations to cancer patients, the Chairperson of the First Ladies against Cancer Initiative and the first lady of Kebbi State, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu said the gesture will bring succour to Cancer patients.

The Chief Medical Director of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada, Professor Bissala Ekele, said the concerns of the wives of the governors for cancer patients would attract stakeholders to pay more attention to the issue of cancer treatment in the country.
Some of the patients who benefited from the cash donations expressed happiness with the wives of the governors.
The first ladies that visited the cancer patients at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada, included the first ladies of Kwara State, Benue, Ogun, Adamawa, Ekiti and Kebbi States
