Yobe State Government has commenced the sale of assorted animal feed at a subsidized rate to help livestock farmers in the state boost their production.

launching the programme at the Nasari-Jakusko Grazing reserve, the Yobe state Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dr. Mairo Ahmad Amshi says the intervention is part of the financial support under the livestock development project of the government to enable herders to settle in one place.

The livestock development project is a joint project between the federal and Yobe state governments to address the Herders/Farmers conflict in addition to boosting the livestock sector.

The Yobe state Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural resources Dr Mairo Ahmed Amshi pointed out that the sale of the animal feed at fifty percent discount  was part of effort to sustain the newly established Livestock Development Center situated at the Nasari/ Jakusko Grazing reserve and to support the headers that agreed to settle in one place.
