The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC Brigadier General Muhammed Kaku Fadah wants Corps members to adequately prepare ahead of their participation in the conduct of forth coming general elections.
Brigadier General Kaku Fadah gave the charge while addressing Corps Members at the Yobe State NYSC permanent orientation camp in Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area.
Brigadier General Fadah said, considering the critical role the corps members are expected to play during the elections, there was the need for them to remain apolitical and strictly adhere by the rules of the game.
The NYSC DG also warned the corps members against drug abuse, cultism, unauthorized journey and other related offences.
He commended them for their exemplary behavior at the orientation camp and urged them to take advantage of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneur Development prgramme of the scheme to became self employed after the service year instead of waiting for white collar jobs that were not readily available.
In a remark, the Yobe State Coordinator of the NYSC, Hajiya Hafsat Yerima commended the NYSC Director General for the visit and requested for the expansion of the general hall at the camp to be able to accommodate more people during their scheduled activities.
She revealed that currently there were 1,186 corps members in the orientation consisting of 1005 male and 181 female.
