Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola

The Federal Government has designated Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12, 2022, as holidays to commemorate Eid-el-Kabir.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who congratulated Muslims on the occasion.

The Minister promised that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is dedicated to the security of lives and properties, empowering individuals for successful living, the provision of social investment programmes, and adequate security in schools.

Aregbesola asked Nigerians to take responsibility by reporting suspicious individuals or illegal activity in their midst to law enforcement authorities via the N-Alerts programme, which has been intended to reduce security concerns by ensuring a rapid response by security agencies.

In a statement, the Ministry’s permanent secretary, Dr Shuaib Belgore, also urged Nigerians to be careful and observant of,what he termed intruders in their communities.

“We must all take responsibility for the security of lives and property as we celebrate this year’s festival,” he said.
