Military to establish world class hospital

The Ministry of Defence has started revising the Military Health Service Delivery.

The Minister, a retired Major General, Bashir Magashi, stated during the unveiling of the proposed policy that the reform was a part of the review of the Defence Sector that President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved.

Magashi emphasised that it was necessary to find solutions to the problems that arose in military hospitals.

According to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr Ibrahim Kana, it would also help close the gaps that are now being faced in the health sector.

Dr Folabi Ogunlesi, the Managing Partner of Vesta Healthcare, spoke about the project’s expectations and said they would begin with what is already in place in the Ministry of Defence and work their way up to international standards.

Chief of Defence Staff General, Lucky Irabor remarked that the proposed health service would boost the emotional capability of serving personnel.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Defence has purchased 160 hectares of land in Abuja for the construction of the proposed complex.
