At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, an assault took place at a construction site in the Owo council area of Ondo State, where two workers from the Road Construction Company, Craneburg, were injured.
Around one in the morning on Monday, there was an assault on the Okuta Elerin police station; however, the police had indicated that there were no casualties.
These attacks come roughly a month after 40 people were killed and over 30 injured in Owo’s St. Francis Church.
According to a tweet by the Ondo Police Command on Wednesday night, the gunmen also used gunfire to destroy trucks that were parked at the scene.
“Tonight, there was a shooting incident at CRANEBURG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY Owo, Policemen are currently at the scene, victims have been taken to hospital and they are in stable condition,” the tweet read.
Adetunji Adeleye, commander of the state security network agency Amotekun Corps, also spoke with reporters and stated that the situation was now under control.
By the grace of God, the situation is under control, and I advise everyone to go about their normal businesses, said the Commander, who also serves as the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security Matters.
