Barcelona has agreed to sign France centre-back Jules Kounde from Sevilla on a five year deal with a 1 billion euro (£837 million) buyout clause.
Kounde, who has 11 France caps, will join for a reported fee of 50 million euros (£41.85 million).
After joining from Bordeaux in 2019, the 23-year old made 133 appearances for Sevilla and won the Europa League in his first season.
Barcelona’s fifth summer signing is Kounde, who is also wanted by Chelsea.
The defender’s arrival at the Nou Camp comes after the Catalan club signed Poland striker Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich for £42.6 million and Brazil winger Raphinha from Leeds for £55 million.
Franck Kessie of the Ivory Coast and Andreas Christensen of Denmark joined manager Xavi’s side on free transfers from AC Milan and Chelsea.
Kounde will unveiled officially as a Barcelona player on Monday.
