Amazon Prime video debuts first Nigerian production

Amazon Prime Video has unveiled its first Nigerian originals; crime-thriller Gangs Of Lagos and comedy series LOL: Last One Laughing Naija to be released later this year.

Prime Video has launched its first local marketing campaign in the country and will allow customers to subscribe to the streamer using local currency (Nigerian Naira) for the first time.

Gangs Of Lagos follows a group of friends growing up in a Lagos neighborhood and stars Tobi Bakre, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, and Chiké.

Jade Osiberu directed the film and produced alongside Kemi Lala Akindoju with co-producer Akin Omotoso. 

An unscripted comedy series, LOL: Last One Laughing Naija sees 10 comedians compete to be the “last one laughing” and it will be hosted by the comedian Basketmouth.

Both projects were filmed entirely in Nigeria and will launch on the streamer later this year, with Gangs Of Lagos releasing in 240 territories and LOL worldwide.
