Military confirms arrest of suspects linked to Owo Church Massacre

No fewer than 40 persons were gruesomely murdered on June 5 when gunmen rained bullets on worshippers during service

The Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor says the perpetrator of the Owo Church killings in Ondo State have been arrested.

He stated this in Abuja at the second media parley with Editors and Media Executives across the country on the state of the nation as well as chart a way forward for peace in the society.

The Chief of Defence Staff noted that the military had been on the trail of the perpetrators of the Owo Church killings and other crimes in the society and six people have been arrested among them is the Owo mastermind.

General Irabor also announced that going by the directive of the President, all efforts have been put on ground to rescue the remaining captives of the Abuja Kaduna train attack.

The Chief of Defence Staff, while assuring the people of FCT of the safety within the city and other parts of the country, called on the public to provide useful information to security agencies.

On the 5th of June 2022, a mass shooting and bomb attack that left so many dead and injured, occurred at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State.
