The Federal Fire Service is to complete thirteen metropolitan fire stations to increase its response to fire incidence in the country.

The Controller General of the Service, Alhaji Jaji Abdulganiyu stated this during an on the spot visit to Nyanya, Dei Dei, and Kubwa fire stations in the FCT as part of activities marking his one hundred days in office.

CG Abdulganiyu said the service would give fire cover to Dei Dei market and expressed displeasure over construction of a shopping plaza beside the fire station instead of a police station.

CG Abdulganiyu promised to resuscitate the Nyanya fire station, which has been moribund due to destruction of its equipment by a mob.

“We are going to put our tanker in operations this week at the Nyanya Fire Station so that they will at least be using that one pending the the time when we get serious assurances from the community that there will be no more attacks on our personnel.” Alhaji Abdulganiyu stated.

The DPO, Nyanya Police Station, CPS Alhassan Majia said the service was ready to protect firefighters during an emergency.
