Immediate past Chief Coach of Remo Stars of Ikenne, Gbenga Ogunbote has agreed on personal terms with Shooting Stars Sports Club, of Ibadan, with a view to taking charge of the club in the upcoming 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional League campaign (NPFL).

Ogunbote alias ‘The Oracle’ steered Remo Stars to finish third in the just concluded NPFL Season, thereby securing the team, a ticket to compete in the 2023 CAF Confederation Cup.

He surprised many followers of the NPFL when he declared himself a free agent, at the end of the closed season; and that paved the way for him and the hierarchy of Remo Stars to part ways, mutually.

Details of his deal with Shooting Stars are still sketchy, but it is thought that he will fill the void vacated by Edith Agoye, who left the Oluyole Warriors, last week, after a nine-year stint, following the club’s brush with relegation, after finishing 16th on the 20 teams NPFL Log.

This will be Ogunbote‘s second time in charge of 3SC, having helped in rescuing the team from the drop a few years back.

Ogunbote, a former two-time Head Coach of Sunshine Stars, had in the recent past had a stint with Enugu Rangers, is increasingly earning a reputation of not staying in any club, beyond one season.
