Zamfara Police rescue 2 girls from kidnappers

Zamfara State Police Command has rescued 2 girls after 3 weeks in Captivity.

In a statement made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Shehu Mohammed who said, the rescue followed intelligence report which led to the unconditional rescue of the teenagers.

On 20th August 2022, Operatives of the Zamfara Police while on building patrol along Nya Mango in Bungudu LGA, acted on an intelligence report that led to the rescue of 2 female hostages namely: 12 year old, Ubaida Hassan and 10 year old, Umaima Jamilu of Gidan Liman village in Kekun Waje district of Bungudu LGA.

SP Shehu noted that the victims who were rescued unhurt were abducted by bandits on 15th July 2022 following an attack on the village.

He said the Victims were medically checked at General Hospital Bungudu, thereafter, debriefed by the Police and handed over to their families.

According to him, while the Command is reassuring the public of its commitment to the protection of lives and property, congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom, and further urges all and sundry to be security conscious and report suspicious characters to the Police or any security agency for prompt action.
