Bauchi unveils universal health scheme

As part of efforts to provide universal health care for all, Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency, on Monday commenced massive registration and enrollment of beneficiaries under the scheme’s Informal Sector component.

The exercise which began in Bauchi metropolis enrolled interested members of the State chapter of National Union
of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.

The Agency’s Director of Programme, Dr Haruna Umar told the union members that they were to pay N12,000 for the period of one year and N10,000 for each member of family of seven.

Dr Haruna Umar explained that the package covers all kinds of ailments except Cancer and Kidney related diseases.

The State Chairman, NURTW, Isma’ila Abubakar represented by his Vice, Alhaji Salisu Ladan promised continuous enlightenment of members on the Programme.

The package of the Bauchi State Health Contributory scheme will accommodate artisans, drivers, farmers among others.
