Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and Chairman of Lake Chad Governors forum Mijinyawa Bakari
The Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum says it is committed towards the implementation of the master plan develop to proffer solutions to insecurity and other developmental challenges confronting the region.
Chairman of the Forum and Governor of North Region of Cameroon, Mr Mijinyawa Bakari stated this when he paid a working visit to the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni at the Government House, Damaturu.
Mr Mihinyawa Bakari said that the essence of his visit to Yobe state was to vist all member states to monitor progress made on development of priority action plan that would be presented to the development partners for ratification.
He note that the security challenge was a global issues that requires global action and common strategy to combat it.
He assured that the forum would not relent towards eradication Boko Haram in the region.
Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni said, the visit provided an opportunity for exchange of ideas and analysis of progress made and the post insurgency drive of restoring peace, security and other developmental challenges in the region.
Governor Mai Mala Buni also reiterated the commitment of Yobe state in pursuance of the goals agreed by the Lake Chad Governors Forum in the implementation of the join action programmes and the territorial action plans.
The Lake Chad Basin Governor’s Forum was established in 2016 for regional cooperation on stabilization, peace-building, and sustainable development interventions in the region affected by Boko Haram.
